APNG keeps 24-bit colour and full alpha transparency, both of which GIF discards. Output is often comparable in size for clean line art.

Where does APNG work?

All modern browsers, iOS Safari, and modern desktop image viewers. Some chat apps and legacy CMSes still treat APNG as a still image.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The encoder runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly.

Why is my APNG large?

APNG is lossless. For photographic content, animated WebP or MP4 is dramatically smaller.

Can I mix different sized frames?

No — all frames should match the dimensions of the first frame. Resize them first using our resize tool.
