よくある質問
- How loud can I make my video?
- You can multiply audio level by up to 10× (about +20 dB). Going much higher than 2-3× on already-normal audio will introduce clipping and distortion. Use the slider to find a balance for your specific clip.
- Will boosting cause clipping or distortion?
- If the original audio is already near the maximum level, boosting will push the loudest samples into hard-clipping which sounds harsh. Quiet recordings (interviews, phone footage with distant subjects) can usually be boosted 2-5× without audible problems.
- How does dB relate to the multiplier?
- The relationship is logarithmic: 2× volume is about +6 dB, 4× is about +12 dB, and 10× is about +20 dB. The slider shows both so you can pick what is intuitive — engineers often think in dB, casual users in multipliers.
- Is the video re-encoded too?
- No. Only the audio is processed; the video stream is copied without re-encoding. This keeps the operation fast and preserves video quality exactly.
- Is my video uploaded to a server?
- No. ffmpeg.wasm runs in your browser via WebAssembly. The file never leaves your device — important for confidential recordings and personal footage.
- What output format is produced?
- The output is MP4 with the original video stream plus the amplified AAC audio. This is compatible with every modern player, phone and editing app.
