Add Page Numbers Starting from a Custom Number

When a PDF document is part of a series — for example, chapter 3 of a manual that starts at page 47 — you need the page numbering to continue from the correct number rather than always starting at 1. This tool lets you set any starting page number.

Enter the first page number you want to appear on the first page of the document, and the tool increments from there. This is essential for maintaining consistent pagination when assembling multi-file documents or distributing individual chapters from a larger work.

The starting number configuration also supports cover pages: set the start to 0 and the first numbered page will show "1", or set it to -1 to keep the first two pages unnumbered if you add page numbers after the fact.

All processing is local in your browser using pdf-lib. No upload required.
