Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this upload my PDF?
- No. All processing happens locally in your browser using pdf-lib. Nothing is sent to any server.
- Does this work on mobile?
- Yes. Works in Safari on iPhone/iPad and Chrome on Android. Tap the upload area to select a PDF.
- Is there a file size limit?
- No imposed limit. The practical limit is your device memory. Most modern devices handle hundreds of megabytes.
- Can I start numbering from a page other than 1?
- Yes. Set the Start number field to any value. Useful when the document is part of a series or the first pages are unnumbered covers.
- What font is used for the page numbers?
- Helvetica — a clean sans-serif font that reads well at small sizes and is embedded in all PDF readers.
- Are password-protected PDFs supported?
- No. Remove the password from the PDF first using your PDF reader, then use this tool.
