Frequently Asked Questions
- What intensity should I use?
- 20–40% for subtle warmth overlay, 60–80% for a clear vintage look, 100% for full classic sepia. Portraits usually look best at 50–70%.
- Does sepia work on colour and B&W images?
- Yes. For colour images the sepia matrix first neutralises the colour cast. For B&W images the effect is applied directly — producing the most authentic sepia-print look.
- Can I combine sepia with the B&W filter?
- Yes — convert to B&W first (using the B&W Filter tool), then apply sepia here. Starting from a clean greyscale image produces the cleanest tonal result.
- Is my image uploaded to a server?
- No. The sepia effect uses Canvas pixel manipulation entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.
