Frequently Asked Questions

Is this baking pan converter free?
Yes, completely free with no signup and no usage limits.
Does my data leave my device?
No. All calculations run in JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The tool is mobile-first and works on iPhone Safari and Android Chrome.
How is the scale factor calculated?
The scale factor is the ratio of the target pan area to the original pan area. For round pans, area = π × (diameter ÷ 2)². For rectangular pans, area = width × length. A scale factor above 1 means a larger pan; below 1 means smaller.
Do I need to adjust the baking temperature too?
Usually not. Adjusting the ingredient quantities (via the scale factor) is the main change. Bake time may need slight adjustment — larger pans often need a few extra minutes; smaller pans may brown earlier. Check for doneness earlier than the original recipe.
