100% client-side · no upload
Load a file to begin.
How to use
- Choose your video file. Keep the source clip short — GIFs from clips longer than 10 seconds get very large.
- Set start and end times for the GIF segment. Adjust FPS (10 is smooth for most content) and width (480 px is a good default).
- Click Convert to GIF. Download the animated GIF when processing finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is my video uploaded during conversion?
- No. All conversion runs locally in your browser using ffmpeg.wasm. Nothing is sent to any server.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes. Works on iPhone Safari and Android Chrome without installing any app.
- How do I get the best GIF quality?
- Use a higher FPS (15–24) for smooth motion and a wider scale for clarity. For best colour quality, use a short clip with limited colour variety — GIF is restricted to 256 colours per frame.
- Which input formats can be converted to GIF?
- ffmpeg.wasm supports MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, MKV, and most other common video formats as input.
