Load a file to begin.

How to use

  1. Choose your video file. Keep the source clip short — GIFs from clips longer than 10 seconds get very large.
  2. Set start and end times for the GIF segment. Adjust FPS (10 is smooth for most content) and width (480 px is a good default).
  3. Click Convert to GIF. Download the animated GIF when processing finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my video uploaded during conversion?
No. All conversion runs locally in your browser using ffmpeg.wasm. Nothing is sent to any server.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Works on iPhone Safari and Android Chrome without installing any app.
How do I get the best GIF quality?
Use a higher FPS (15–24) for smooth motion and a wider scale for clarity. For best colour quality, use a short clip with limited colour variety — GIF is restricted to 256 colours per frame.
Which input formats can be converted to GIF?
ffmpeg.wasm supports MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, MKV, and most other common video formats as input.
