How to convert AVIF to JPG
- Pick one or more
.aviffiles (or drag them onto the picker). - Adjust the JPEG quality slider — 90 is a safe default; 75 produces visibly smaller files.

Common use cases
- Sharing on older platforms: social apps, email clients, and CMSes that still don't recognise AVIF.
- Photo printing: photo labs almost universally require JPEG uploads.
- Compatibility with editors: some image editors and viewers can't open AVIF yet.
Frequently asked questions
What quality setting should I pick?
90 keeps photos visually identical to the AVIF source. 75 is a common web-quality setting. Below 60, JPEG artefacts become visible.
Will I lose image detail?
AVIF can encode finer detail than JPEG at the same file size, so a roundtrip is slightly lossy at low quality. At 90+ the loss is imperceptible for photos.
Does it run on mobile?
Yes — Safari on iOS 16+, Chrome and Firefox on Android all decode AVIF and encode JPEG via the canvas API.
