Frequently Asked Questions

What is an audio fade?
A fade-in gradually increases volume from silence to full at the start of a clip. A fade-out gradually decreases volume to silence at the end.
What fade shapes are supported?
Linear fades change volume at a constant rate. Equal-power fades follow the curve used in DJ crossfading — they sound more natural to the human ear.
Is my file uploaded to process the fade?
No. The fade is applied entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API OfflineAudioContext. Nothing leaves your device.
What input formats are supported?
Any format your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC/M4A. Output is always WAV (16-bit PCM).
