Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an audio fade?
- A fade-in gradually increases volume from silence to full at the start of a clip. A fade-out gradually decreases volume to silence at the end.
- What fade shapes are supported?
- Linear fades change volume at a constant rate. Equal-power fades follow the curve used in DJ crossfading — they sound more natural to the human ear.
- Is my file uploaded to process the fade?
- No. The fade is applied entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API OfflineAudioContext. Nothing leaves your device.
- What input formats are supported?
- Any format your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC/M4A. Output is always WAV (16-bit PCM).
