Yes, completely free with no signup and no usage limits.
Does my data leave my device?
No. All conversions run in JavaScript inside your browser. No data is sent to any server.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The converter is mobile-first and works on iPhone Safari and Android Chrome.
What is the difference between DD, DMS, and DDM?
DD (decimal degrees) expresses latitude and longitude as decimals (e.g. 51.5074°N). DMS (degrees-minutes-seconds) uses the traditional format (e.g. 51°30'26"N). DDM (degrees-decimal-minutes) keeps whole degrees but uses decimal minutes (e.g. 51°30.444'N).
Which format does Google Maps use?
Google Maps accepts all three formats. The default display uses decimal degrees, but you can paste DMS coordinates into the search bar and it will recognise them.
