Remove All Bookmarks from a PDF

Some PDF bookmarks are automatically generated from document structure and contain misleading or incorrect entries — temporary section labels, draft chapter titles, or internal references that should not appear in the final document. This tool lets you remove all bookmarks from a PDF, or selectively delete individual entries, before distribution.

To remove all bookmarks: open the PDF, click Clear all in the editor, then click Apply Bookmarks & Download. The resulting PDF has no outline at all — the bookmarks panel in PDF readers will be empty or hidden.

To remove only certain bookmarks: use the × button on individual rows to delete specific entries while keeping others. You can also rename bookmarks before saving if the issue is title accuracy rather than presence.

The tool reads the existing /Outlines dictionary from the PDF when the file is opened, so you can see exactly what bookmarks are present before deciding which to keep or remove. All processing uses pdf-lib running locally in your browser.
