What are small caps?

Small capitals are letters that look like uppercase letters but are the same size as lowercase letters. In traditional typography they are drawn as distinct glyphs by type designers. This tool uses Unicode characters from the IPA Extensions and Phonetic Extensions blocks (e.g. ᴀ U+1D00, ʙ U+0299) that visually resemble small capitals. They render consistently across most modern operating systems and browsers.
