Optimize PDF Size Losslessly
Lossless PDF optimization reduces file size without changing any visible content. Unlike JPEG compression for images, lossless PDF optimization removes only redundant or unnecessary data: embedded metadata, creator information, and structural overhead added by authoring tools.
This tool applies lossless optimization using pdf-lib in the browser. The output PDF contains the same pages, the same text, the same images — just stripped of non-essential data. The resulting PDF is smaller and loads faster in PDF readers.
Lossless optimization is the right approach when you need to reduce file size without any quality trade-off. If your PDF is very large because it contains high-resolution photos, lossless optimization will have limited impact and you should also consider re-exporting with lower image quality from the source application.
